People of Song
Our vision
A six-person collective from the Theodosia Music and Art Centre (Namibia) and Momentbühne eV (Germany) is developing the musical theater piece People of Song . The six artists are united by their desire to contribute to new ways of collaborating between artists from Namibia and Germany and to raise public awareness of social issues through culture.
Content of the work
People of Song is set in the present day. The story revolves around a 16-year-old girl named Anirus, who stirs up repressed memories by asking her grandmother Ouma questions, but receives no answers from her. At the same time, Hermann, the son of a German businessman, sets off for Namibia to return an inherited artifact. As the plot progresses, we witness the coming together of an unusual family.
