Kinderoper Chief Hijangua

children's opera

We are delighted that Namibian composer Eslon Hindundu and librettist Nikolaus Frei are working on a children's version of the opera Chief Hijangua.

It is intended to arouse curiosity about Namibia and its diverse culture and nature in children in the 3rd and 4th grades. The children's version is based on Acts 1 and 2 of the original version and gives particular insights into Namibia's exciting world of fairy tales and myths. The production is performed by two soloists and an orchestra. Partner of this production is the Humboldt Forum Berlin.

More information will follow shortly.
